The Windward Islands are known for weed (a vital ingredient of the Rastafarian religion!) - it seems appropriate that, as far as Claire is concerned, it will forever be remembered as the source of her  'pot'!    The silence on the blog since our arrival in Martinique has been due entirely to Claire's attempts to sort out her wrist.   It now transpires that 7 days into the passage the radius bone was well and truly broken!   The miracle is that despite sailing for a further 10 days with nothing more than a wrist brace for support the radius has remained in place, no operation is necessary and if all goes well for the next week Claire will be spared the inconvenience of a plaster cast and can remain for 6 weeks with a 'designer splint' that was made for her at the teaching hospital in Fort de France.     No diving or snorkelling but hey ....  it's not as if we're on a 2 week holiday and 6 weeks will fly past.
