Court Short

 Paul Blackham (a fellow Bristol Savage) and Julia Tresidder (Paul's sailing daughter) on board OR for lunch in a Force 10 gale!            Just in case you are under any illusion ... we did not put to sea, we were firmly moored up in our berth at Portishead!      

The PWRCC (Portishead World Rally Cruising Club - pronounced PAWK) met on board Vicky and Elliot's wonderful Bowman - yet to be named!    After Vicky's amazing curry John may well be feeling the pressure of hosting the next meeting of the PWRCC on Hecla.

 We had a wonderful  sail today arriving in Milford Haven Estuary with the sun shining.   We finally moored up in Neyland Yacht Haven having investigated upstream as far as the water would allow. We spent last night in Barry - tied up to the Pilot Buoy - then set off first thing for a bit of a bumpy ride to the Gower coast.   It was wonderful to find calm waters off Caldey Island where we anchored for the night in blissful isolation.

 Didn't catch much - but hardly surprising when fishing off Weston-super-Mud!  Still, good to try out the new 'birthday' reel from the boys.

Finally we get to sea after the winter layup.   New additions to OR's superb inventory put to the test: Adrian's wonderful all-weather seat:         New shelves and a little privacy for the starboard sterncabin:           New shelves and a little privacy for the port stern cabin too!

 Need one say more!!

Just in case anyone was wondering where we'd disappeared - we were leaving tracks in the snow!   Practising our 'tacking' on the slopes of Diableret.

Not ones to be shy about spreading good news we thought we would share our latest achievement with anyone who cares to listen!! Ocean Rainbow won TWO prizes this year at Portishead Cruising Club's Annual Dinner Dance ..... A substantial trophy for the 'Best Kept Log' - I know, we were surprised about that one! […]

With John Lister's expert help we managed to service the engine without losing any nuts and bolts or breaking any working parts.   If you know us well, you will appreciate that this is a significant achievement!
