Yesterday we took C&J from Makani for a ‘jolly’ on Ocean Rainbow to Ho Chan Cut (aka Shark Alley). It was another ‘squeaky bottom’ ride using satellite pictures for navigation as we made our way through the reef. A fabulous sail up doing plus of 7kts but a much slower sail home … a good thing as, at times, we had precious little below the keel (try 0.00!!). Don’t think there will be any barnacles left on the bottom of Ocean Rainbow! Shark alley lived up to its name and we have some magical video footage as a reminder of our swim with sharks. There were also rays, enormous fish and some beautiful coral heads. A great trip and, after such a lovely day, it seems only fitting that we were treated to the most spectacular sunset while we sipped our sundowners safely back in Caye Caulker anchorage. A perfect end to a perfect day.
