The last week has been full of wonderful sailing around Belize and anchoring off lovely Cays; we’ve had dolphins playing off the bow of Ocean Rainbow and swum with nurse sharks in both South and Long Cocoa Cays; we’ve seen myriads of colourful fish and some beautiful coloured corals. The navigation around the islands is exciting and not for the faint-hearted, but we use satellite maps to help avoid the reefs – plus we have been following catamaran Makani! With her shallower draft she has been the trail blazer allowing us to anchor very close to shore without having heart failure! Belize is proving to be a real gem.
