After a wonderful weekend in North Yorkshire for the amalgamation of the 9th/12th Royal Lancers with the QRL to form the Royal Lancers we are fully ‘Royalled Out’ and ready to get back to some sailing and adventuring on Ocean Rainbow. Our return to OR was somewhat blighted by evidence that we had been boarded in our absence but luckily nothing – other than James’ dummy wallet containing left over notes from places like Morocco, Norway and Macedonia – was stolen. Still, we had to do a thorough tidy as all the lockers had been ransacked and then we started on the process of putting OR together again so that she is fit for sailing and all weathers. We are now ready to leave the marina for the anchorage having washed her down, topped up our water and fuel tanks, charged all our batteries and got the fridge working to maximum capacity (suitably loaded with goodies from the local shop). Not long until our first sundowner …. Too tired last night to drink anything more than water!
