Caribbean Christmas

Christmas Day 051Christmas Day 051 - CopyWhat can one say?  It was a wonderful day with only one ingredient missing – our families.   However, the Freebooter/Ocean Rainbow combination is a very special one and we have had a truly memorable Christmas.  We attended the Midnight Service at St Mary’s and then on Christmas Day, Freebooter joined us for our own special service onboard, we sang some carols and then had Buck’s Fizz and mince pies as we waited for the turkey to cook to perfection on Freebooter, whilst all the vegetables and trimmings were cooking on Ocean Rainbow.   We ate the meal on Freebooter, so OR’s contribution was transported across in a ‘haybox’ (cool bag converted to transport hot goods!).  It was an overwhelming success – quite the most delicious Christmas meal ever – the girls even managed to go snorkelling after the washing up.   We rounded off the day with Steve’s Caribbean Christmas Cake and a cup of tea – very British!
