In October we took Ocean Rainbow up to Bristol docks to JB Boatbuilding where John Raymond-Barker retro-fitted Ocean Rainbow with a teak and holly cabin sole and some extra cupboards in the forepeak.
John in his workshop at Underfall yard preparing the trim for OR's forepeak cupboards.
and finished result:
Bare boards exposed on the left and the finished product on the right!
John and Claire (having escaped from the office at lunch-time) surveying the progress with the floor.
James fitted a knife rack in the galley and Adrian made a seat for the companionway - to be known as the ????? (yet to find a name befitting such a brilliant idea!) See below for a picture - Adrian's patented the design so all royalties to him, please.
This is the year of the watermaker. We purchased a Katadyne from Mactra in Weston super Mare and thanks to Jim (and Ray) the installation is now complete. We'll have to wait until we hit blue waters before we can fully test the machine - the cappucino channel is not conducive to filter survival!
Claire has also invested in another self-tailing winch for the coach roof for use when flying the 'kite'.
