Court Short

James and Adrian arrived in Falmouth after a rather long motor sail - despite their best endeavours to sail!

Slight problem with the batteries so put into Padstow to assess the situation.  Sorted ourselves out, had showers, indulged in a magnificent breakfast (researched by Adrian!) and fixed the compass light and then set off for Falmouth on the evening tide.

Short hop across the Bristol Channel to the land of Claire's forefathers!  Only 19nm covered today.

Visitors on board Ocean Rainbow for a quick spin in the 'Bay' were rewarded with a trip up Channel in beautiful weather and a quick stop for lunch at St Pierre (Nikki'd never visited before) and then home again without one drop of rain!

Just a quick trip to Oxwich via Barry and back via Swansea and Penarth.  No fish caught, some sunshine and some rain!

 We had a wonderful  sail today arriving in Milford Haven Estuary with the sun shining.   We finally moored up in Neyland Yacht Haven having investigated upstream as far as the water would allow. We spent last night in Barry - tied up to the Pilot Buoy - then set off first thing for a bit of a bumpy ride to the Gower coast.   It was wonderful to find calm waters off Caldey Island where we anchored for the night in blissful isolation.

Finally we get to sea after the winter layup.   New additions to OR's superb inventory put to the test: Adrian's wonderful all-weather seat:         New shelves and a little privacy for the starboard sterncabin:           New shelves and a little privacy for the port stern cabin too!

Another lovely stopover at Cardiff Yacht Club.   CYC's fundraising auction provided entertainment and Claire bid for and got a bosun's chair and self-climbing mast steps.

Lock out at 1030, all sails set and a gentle drift to Cardiff barrage.
