Ocean Rainbow spent the day precariously balanced on the grid at Pill while James fitted another anode (with a little bit of help from John Champion!!).
You know the old joke - Why does it take 3 men to change a light bulb? ... well here are 3 men changing a pump!! And, guess what, it did work at the end so success story all round!
With John Lister's expert help we managed to service the engine without losing any nuts and bolts or breaking any working parts. If you know us well, you will appreciate that this is a significant achievement!
At last we are able to put everything back in its place and 'bend on' the freshly cleaned and refurbished sails. Only got to put the cushions back and we are ready to set sail down Channel.
Always knew the polishing skills learned at Clarendon would come in useful for something more interesting than cleaning the house! Helen showing James how it's done!
Claire purchased some very neat down-lighters in Weston super Mare's excellent Caravan shop, James then fitted them in the Saloon (Sat 21 Jan) to provide excellent reading lights and more ambience for supper parties! Having taken down and replaced three sets of head-lining, the new cordless drill came in very handy. And......the lights all work!
