Caiman

Another virtuoso performance from Jesse James – he really is a very special tour guide. Yesterday we had a tour of La Brea Pitch Lake in the south of Trinidad which was totally amazing, the eighth wonder? Perhaps not, but there are only 2 others in the world and I don’t suppose you’d be allowed to walk all over them! Then it was off north to the swamp via a couple of Hindu Temples (no opportunity wasted!). Our boat trip through he swamp was magical complete with sleeping boa constrictor, freshwater caiman – so surprised by the sight of us he came out of the water and posed motionless – and then the most glorious sight of roosting scarlet ibis. Simply stunning. Squadrons came in out of the sun and settled on their favoured island, looking like Christmas lights on a designer tree.
