It’s non-stop on this Nereids Rally! No sooner had we found our ‘feet’ than we were ashore for a welcome from the Adjunct of Awala Yalimapo, the next day we were ashore for some Amerinidian music, dancing and feasting, the following day it was a mad dash to Cayenne TV studios for Claire, Jean and David for a little promotional plug and the next day it was off to Mana to see what the nearest town had to offer. After a visit to the Museum we had a look around the town which is really simple, clean and quiet but just on the river bank we found Le Manoa del Dorado. That was certainly not quiet! Silvain, the proprietor was a hoot. A former London chef he produced a totally delicious salad, regaled us with stories, answered all our questions and then showed us his collection of artefacts from the area. Oh, and we had the odd cold beer! What a treat it all was and just a shame we couldn’t have stayed longer.
