We slipped our mooring buoy in Chaguaramas on Friday morning and headed off to the island of Monos and the quiet anchorage of Grand Fond. It’s also known as Turtle Bay and sure enough on approaching the shallows we spotted a small turtle. We anchored with only one other yacht and by the evening we were on our own and enjoying real peace and tranquillity. We’ve been hard at work for the last two weeks and we are about to have another week of hard slog as we haul out for our insurance survey and do all the funny little jobs you can only do out of the water so we're giving ourselves a treat. Maaike and Huip from s/v Madeleine also headed to the bay for a few days break so we enjoyed supper and sundowners together and Maaike and Claire had a 'noodling' session much to the amusement of the men!
