Buccoo is famous not only for its reef but also for its goat racing which is held in the swankiest stadium in the world!  The Goat Races were held as part of the annual Heritage Festival.  It was an absolute hoot.  The jockeys run alongside – or are dragged behind the goats – and it’s the goat with the best sense of preservation that wins the race, carving up all its opponents.   We chose our goats the way we choose our horses – according to the colours worn by the jockey ....  red and yellow, of course! – and had a modicum of success but with no betting allowed we didn’t have to worry about losing the deeds of the yacht!
