Wow! We have certainly had a truly Caribbean Easter service! We got up at sparrows this morning (well, sparrows for us!) and dinghied in to the dock in Rodney Bay to meet up with Annemarie and Steve from Freebooter at 6.45am. We then caught the local bus to Castries and went to Holy Trinity for the 7.30am service (we’d decided that the 6.00am service was ridiculously early!!). The church was crammed and the Police Brass Band occupied the minstrels gallery – yes, the singing was wonderful and we had more than 20 hymns … to make the most of the band (!) and then, at the end we were treated to a stunning rendition of the Alleluia Chorus. What a way to celebrate Easter. We are now in BB’s (a Marina Café) and refuelling with BB’s bacon and egg muffins and very much looking forward to the first chocolate for 40 days!
