Mending the dinghy engine 002

Whilst dinghying ashore in St Mary’s, we almost hit a mooring line, took avoiding action and then found ourselves without power!  We resorted to oars as we failed to start the engine again.    We thought that we might have somehow damaged our outboard engine but decided that we would fix the problem in Spain and not delay our departure any longer.   Thus, Jon and James spent ages today dismembering the engine and reassembling it, but all to no avail so they went to the local marine engineer who diagnosed the problem as a misaligned fuel injector.   An afternoon in the workshop and our trusty engine is back in good working order and we have promised the engineer to ‘treat her gently’!

I just had to include these photos – this is the Ares fresh air workout studio!    Definitely something we are going to need judging by the calorific supper we consumed at the local tavern!
